St Mary’s Church is open for Public Worship at 9.30am service on Sundays and 10.00am on Thursdays. It is, of course, necessary to strictly observe all the guidelines regarding social distancing and hygiene. You can read a summary of these here and there are clear instructions on entering the church about how to observe these protocols to keep everybody safe.
If you are unable to attend in person, services from St Giles’ Church are available to join via Zoom. If you would like to join in with this, please email the Parish Office at firstname.lastname@example.org to be added to the list.
Meanwhile, the life of the church carries on. Rev’d Abbey has compiled some booklets for us to share: please click here to read her ‘Book of Prayers and Reflections’ and here to read her ‘Little Book of Comfort’.
We continue to produce a weekly sheet which contains the readings for Sunday, a reflection on the readings and the lectionary for Morning and Evening Prayer for the week ahead. The following links will take you to the order of service for the week commencing Sunday 27 September, Trinity 16, when Rev’d Abbey will be celebrating her first Eucharist following her ordination to the priesthood on Saturday 26 September: Holy Communion, a Service of the Word and a Reflection on the Gospel, And the following link will take you to the Church of England’s website where you can find daily prayers https://www.churchofengland.org/prayer-and-worship/join-us-service-daily-prayer.
We want to emphasise that St Mary’s is here for everyone – if you or anyone you know would like to receive the prayer materials, weekly sheet or have a regular pastoral phone call please do let us know, and remember you can contact us by phone at any time.
We hope to fully re-open the Parish Office soon but, in the meantime, if you have an emergency, please ring Rev’d Tom at the Vicarage on 0191 384 2452 or Rev’d Abbey on 07377 146110. Alternatively you can email Rev’d Tom at email@example.com or the Parish email firstname.lastname@example.org
